The Department of Defense Spinal Cord Injury Research Program (SCIRP) has invested over $200 million in SCI research since 2009, funding breakthrough work in neuroprosthetics, pain management, and bladder function. Congress recently eliminated this program, and according to the Journal of Neurotrauma, its discontinuation is projected to lead to an approximate 50% decline in federal SCI research funding by 2026. The Roll on the Capitol advocacy day gives the SCI community a direct voice in restoring this critical funding.
