About the SCIRP Program – The Spinal Cord Injury Research Program (SCIRP) was established by Congress in FY09 to support research into repairing/regenerating damaged spinal cords and improving rehabilitation therapies. The SCIRP continues to deliver on that mandate year after year by executing a mission of funding research and encouraging interdisciplinary collaborations for the development and translation of more effective strategies to improve the health and well-being of Service members, Veterans, and other individuals with spinal cord injury. The SCIRP is now a leading funder of spinal cord injury research in the United States and supports the development of health care solutions for both the acute and chronically injured.
